    To receive apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  2. Declarations of Interests
    To receive any declarations from Members / Officers of personal and / or prejudicial interests in respect of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.

    To confirm the minutes of the Human Resources meeting held on 24 March 2009.
  5. Women in Policing Network (WiPN)
    A representative from the Women in Policing Network will give a short presentation about the Network, which will include an update on the recently held Senior Women in Policing Network (SWiP)
  6. Proposed restructuring of the HR function
    To receive a further report on the staff and service impact of the changes to the HR function as agreed at the March Meeting.
  7. People Strategy
    This report provides an update on the final version of the People Strategy.

    This report provides an update on sickness management absence with a specific focus on the management of long term sickness.
  9. Performance Development Review (PDR)
    This presentation provides an update on the PDR process, its completion rates and the effectiveness of the process.

    This report provides an analysis and initial commentary on the latest HR performance indicators.

  11. Police Authority Members' Training Programme
    The Police Authority has undertaken an assessment of members' training needs. This report will inform members of the outcomes of this process and how it will be taken forward.
  12. HMIC Inspection of the Constabulary's Human Resources function
    This report provides an update on the HMIC's report on the Human Resources function within the Constabulary following a re-inspection carried out at the end of 2008.
  13. Force Response to the HMIC Thematic Report 'Leading from the Frontline'.
    This report provides information on the current progress by the Constabulary in addressing areas identified within the Report "Leading from the Frontline".
