Human Resources Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Human Resources Committee will be held on Thursday 12 May 2011, at 10:00 hrs in Devon & Cornwall Police Authority Endeavour House Woodwater Park Pynes Hill Exeter to which you are requested to attend, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Meeting Agenda

  1. Apologies for Absence
    To receive apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  2. Declarations of Interest
    To receive any declarations from Members/Officers of personal and/or prejudicial interests in respect  of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
  3. Chairman’s Announcements
    The Chairman will announce any matters of information for members of the Authority.  There is no discussion and no decisions will be required arising from the announcements.
  4. Minutes and actions from the last meeting
    To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 17 March as a correct record; the action log from the meeting is appended for information.

  5. Review of Police Leadership and Training
    The report highlights key issues arising from the national Neyroud report on Police Leadership and Training, including the potential impact on Devon and Cornwall Police and how the organization will contribute to the consultation process.

  11. Papers For Information
    i) Organisational change – Senior Management Guidance.  Due to the potential cost of providing individual copies to all Members, this report will be available to members at this meeting and subsequent  to the meeting.

  12. Consideration to Exclude the Press and Public
    Closed Items (Items which may be considered by the Committee with only members of the Police Authority, appropriate Officers and expert advisors present, on the grounds that exempt/confidential information may be disclosed).
  13. Voluntary Redundancy
    The report sets out the agreed criteria for decisions on the use of Voluntary Redundancy  and the information that will be supplied to the Authority in support of any decision to remove posts.
  14. National Fraud Initiative Relating to Injury Claims
    The report provides financial details of the under and over payments that have been identified through the National Fraud Initiative and makes proposals to the Authority for their recovery.
