Human Resources Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Human Resources Committee will be held on Thursday 21 July 2011, at 10:30 hrs in Devon & Cornwall Police Authority Endeavour House Woodwater Park Pynes Hill Exeter to which you are requested to attend, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Meeting Agenda

  1. Appointment of Chair
    As this is the first meeting of the Committee after the annual meeting of the Authority the first item of business will be the appointment of the Chair.
  2. Appointment of Vice Chair
  3. Apologies for Absence
    To receive apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  4. Declarations of Interest
    To receive any declarations from Members/Officers of personal and/or prejudicial interests in respect of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
  5. Chairman’s Announcements
    The Chairman will announce any matters of information for members of the Authority.  There is no discussion and no decisions will be required arising from the announcements.
  6. Minutes and actions from the last meeting
    To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 12 May 2011 as a correct record; the action log from the meeting is appended for information.

  8. Risk Register & Workplan
    This report provides assurance to Members of the progress made on both frameworks and will provide a context for the Force reports that follow.  This report will be tabled at the meeting, to be presented by the Human Resources Advisor to the Authority.

  14. The Leadership Director of HR Update

  15. Consideration to Exclude the Press and Public
    Closed Items (Items which may be considered by the Committee with only members of the Police Authority, appropriate Officers and expert advisors present, on the grounds that exempt / confidential information may be disclosed)
  16. Career Progression and Promotional Opportunities
    This report provides an update on progress in relation to the findings of the Staff Survey on career progression.
