Human Resources Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Human Resources Committee will be held on Wednesday 28 September 2011, at 10:30 hrs in Devon & Cornwall Police Authority Endeavour House Woodwater Park Pynes Hill Exeter to which you are requested to attend, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Meeting Agenda

  1. Apologies for Absence
    To receive apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  2. Declarations of Interest
    To receive any declarations from Members/Officers of personal and/or prejudicial interests in respect of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
  3. Chairman’s Announcements
    The Chairman will announce any matters of information for members of the Authority.  There is no discussion and no decisions will be required arising from the announcements.
  4. Minutes and actions from the last meeting
    To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 21st July 2011as a correct record; the action log from the meeting is appended for information.

  5. Proposed Human Resources Structure
    This report updates Members on the proposed Human Resources and Finance and Resources structure.
  6. Staff Survey Results
    This report provides an update on the Police Staff Survey results.
  7. Management Information Pack
    The Management Information Report provides management information based on key risks as identified by the Police Authority HR committee.  The report includes the Force Scorecard.

  8. Risk Register and Workplan
    The Human Resources Advisor will provide an oral update on the Risk register and Workplan.
  9. Director of H R Update
    The Director of Human Resources will provide an update on any key HR issues that are not part of the subject matter of other reports to the Committee.
  10. HR Advisor Update Report
    The oral report will provide a brief update on any key HR matters that are not part of the
    subject matter of other reports to the committee.
  11. Process for Determining and Authorising Redundancy
    This report presents the updated process for determining and authorizing redundancy including the incorporation of an appeals process.

    This report will provide Members with an update on the status of the Police Staff Review.
  14. Organisational Reviews- Early Application of Voluntary Redundancy
    This report updates members on voluntary redundancies arising from organizational reviews.
  15. Organisational Reviews-Progression to Formal Consultation
    This report provides an update for Members in relation to the progression of staff reviews to formal consultation.
