A special meeting of the Human Resources Committee, which you are requested to attend, will be held on Wednesday 21 June 2006 at 10:00hrs in the Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Exeter, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.
Any papers listed as "to follow", urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

- Declarations of Interests
To receive any declarations from Members / Officers of personal and / or prejudicial interests in respect of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
- Chairman's Announcements
To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 12 April 2006.
- HMIC Report of Training Best Value Review
The report will be given on the implementation of the Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary (HMIC) recommendations.
- Training Prioritisation Programme
The paper attached will be presented to the Force HR and Training Committee on 20 June 2006; an oral update will be given of that meeting's deliberations regarding the training prioritisation programme.
- Baseline Assessment
To consider the update on actions taken, relevant to Human Resources, as a result of issues identified in the HMIC baseline assessment.
- HR Improvement Programme
An oral report will be given regarding the Human Resources Improvement Plan.
- Strategy for Healthy Police Service
The Force Senior Medical Advisor Head of Occupational Health will give a short presentation on the progress of the development of a local action plan regarding the 8 strands of the Home Office Strategy.
- Overtime Levels and Trends
A request was made at the Police Authority Human Resources Committee Meeting dated 30th March 2006, for information on Police Officer Overtime Levels and Trends. The reason for this was to assess current levels against those that have occurred previously and to highlight any areas of concern within any particular BCU or Department. The report concentrates on the financial aspects and compares overtime expenditure for the last five years.
- Application Procedure for Officers Retiring and Re-appointed as Police Staff
This report provides information, requested by the Committee at a previous meeting, regarding police officers who retire and are then employed as Police Staff.
- Exit Interview Findings 2005/06
The report will provide information obtained from exit interviews, to follow.
- HR functions and Future Plans
The Head of Human Resources will provide an oral update.
