A meeting of the Human Resources Committee, which you are requested to attend, will be held on 24 March 2009 at 10:00hrs in the Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Exeter, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

  5. Proposed restructuring of the HR function
    This report provides an update on the progress of the proposals in restructuring the HR function within the Constabulary.

    This report provides an analysis and initial commentary on the latest HR performance indicators.

  7. Police Authority Members' Training Programme
    The Policing Green Paper identified changes for Police Authorities, one of which is that the Authority must have the right capacity and capability. In order to help bring this about the Authority needs to identify Member training and development needs in readiness for HMIC and Audit Commission inspections scheduled to take place from July 2009. Members have now taken part in one-to-one meetings to gauge Members' needs and this is an oral update on that process.
  8. HMIC Inspection of the Constabulary's Human Resources
    This report provides an update on the HMIC's report on the human resources function within the Constabulary following a re-inspection carried out at the end of 2008.
  9. Workforce Modernisation
    This report sets out the current position on the Workforce Modernisation programme
  10. Force Response to the HMIC Thematic Report 'Leading from the Frontline'.
    This report provides information on the current progress in addressing the areas identified within the Report "Leading from the Frontline".
