A meeting of the Planning and Consultation Committee to which you are requested to attend will be held on Wednesday 5 April 2006 at 10.00am in the Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Exeter, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

    To receive apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  2. Declarations of Interests
    To receive any declarations from Members / Officers of personal and / or prejudicial interests in respect of matters for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
  3. Minutes
    To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 1 February 2006 as a correct record.
  4. Public Awareness of Neighbourhood Policing – Update
    A paper detailing the activities being carried out by the Corporate Communications Department and in the Basic Command Units to improve public awareness of Neighbourhood Beat Managers.
  5. Consultation – A Strategic Document
    A report outlining the Police Authority’s and Constabulary’s statutory duties with regards to consultation, and recommendations for consultation priorities for 2006/2007.

    Methodologies and Resource Implications A report to inform Members about the different consultation methodologies available to the Authority and the resource and time implications involved with a view that consultation topics are chosen and prioritised.

  7. Roles and Responsibilities of Marketing Communication Officers in BCUs
    A report detailing the objectives of newly appointed Marketing Communication Officers within the BCUs.
  8. Quality of Service Commitment
    A report on the work being progressed to introduce the Quality of Service Commitment by November 2006.
  9. Continuous Improvement Database
    An update on progress of recommendations relating to consultation and community engagement stored on the Continuous Improvement Database within the Corporate Services Department.
