A meeting of the Community Engagement Committee to which you are requested to attend will be held on 20 January 2010 at 10am in the Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Exeter, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

  5. Confidence Action Plan
    This report provides an overview of the action being taken by the Police to address the recent decrease in public confidence.  Also part of this discussion will be the Public Confidence Communications Strategy and a report providing an update on the public survey.

  6. Community Messaging
    An oral overview to raise Members’ awareness of the Police’s Community Messaging scheme.
  7. Police Authority Consultation Results – ‘Daisy’ consultation
    This report provides the Committee with the results and analysis of the ‘daisy consultation’ that took place in summer 2009.
  8. Joint Police Authority and Police Community Engagement Strategy
    This report presents the joint strategy for approval by the Committee.
  9. Police Authority’s Community Engagement Plan
    This report presents the first draft on the Community Engagement Plan for the Police Authority, detailing activity that delivers the strategy.
  10. Devon and Cornwall Policing Plan 2010/2013
    This report presents the first draft of the forthcoming three years Policing Plan.  The Police Authority content will be discussed and is seeking amendment where appropriate and approval.  [Main paper to follow.  Draft Police Authority pages available – item 10a].  
  11. Partnership Strategy: The approach
    A report outlining the approach of the Authority and Police’s in developing a partnership working strategy and providing Members with the opportunity to input to this approach.

  12. Monitoring the Policing Pledge
    An oral update by the Committee’s Chair as to the Authority’s plans for monitoring performance against the Policing Pledge.
