A meeting of the Community Engagement Committee to which you are requested to attend will be held on 20 July 2010 at 10am in the Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Exeter, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.
This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.
Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

- Chairman’s Announcements
To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 13 May 2010 as a correct record.
- Emergency Services Call Handling statistics
This paper provides Members with some comparative data of police performance of call handling in relation to other emergency services.
- Complaints against the police in relation to incivility
This report answers the Committee’s request for information in relation to complaints of incivility.
- How the Constabulary communicates with local communities
An oral overview about the methods used by the Constabulary to communicate with the communities of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
- Assistant Chief Constable (Territorial Policing) Update Report
The Assistant Chief Constable will provide an oral update on important items that have arisen since the Committee papers were prepared.
- Overview of Force performance against policing pledge
This report updates Members on the current performance of the Force in relation to the Policing Pledge.
- Neighbourhood Policing Stock Take
An oral update following the Authority’s involvement in a recent Stock Take of the Force. This item will also consider the need for nominating a lead member for neighbourhood policing.
- Draft Annual Report
The Authority has a statutory obligation to release and annual report and this paper provides the first draft for Members to comment upon and provide direction of general themes. [Paper to follow]
- Consultation Update
This paper provides the Committee with an update on current feedback from community consultation events. [Paper to follow]
- Review of Committee risks
To consider all risks allocated to the Community Engagement Committee and make recommendations to the Risk Review Group of any suggested changes.
