Professional Standards and Complaints Monitoring Committee Meeting - Monday 6 February 2012

A meeting of the Professional Standards and Complaints Monitoring Committee will be held on Monday 6 February 2012, at 10:00 hrs in Conference Room, Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Pynes Hill, Exeter to which you are requested to attend, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

This meeting will be broadcast live on the Internet and recorded for future viewing.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

  7. Performance - Complaints Received by the Police Force
    This oral report will provide headline information surrounding the most recent set of performance figures for dealing with complaints.  
  8. Correlation between Complaint Investigation Days and User Satisfaction in Plymouth LPA
    This report provides further information on the number of investigative days and user satisfaction rates in relation to Plymouth, following concerns raised at the last meeting.

  9. Assurance Reports

    A) Study of Case Files
    Jill Owen and David Money undertook dip sampling of complaint files on 6 January 2012, focussing on complaints where there was a time delay in either investigation or resolution. This agenda item provides the opportunity for a short oral report on the key issues emanating from the dip sampling session.

    B) Learning Walk
    Jill Owen attended a learning walk of the Professional Standards Department at Police Headquarters on 6 December 2011 and will provide a short oral report on that activity.

    This report gives details of force personnel who are currently suspended from duty, or have restrictions imposed upon their duties.  .

    This report includes a quarterly update in relation to complaints referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
