Strategic Planning and Co-Ordination Committee Meeting - Monday 11 April 2011

A meeting of the Strategic Planning and Co-Ordination Committee will be held on Monday 11 April 2011, at 14:30 hrs in Conference Room, Endeavour House, Woodwater Park, Pynes Hill, Exeter to which you are requested to attend, to consider the items as detailed on the Agenda given below.

Any papers listed as “to follow”, urgent items or supplementary papers will be made available as soon as possible and in any event at least 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Meeting Agenda

  1. Apologies for absence
    To receive any apologies for absence from Members unable to attend the meeting.
  2. Declarations of interest
    To receive any declarations of interest from Members / Officers of personal and / or prejudicial interests in respect of matters due for consideration at this meeting, together with the appropriate statement on the nature of any such declared interests.
  3. Urgent items
    3(a) Items requiring urgent attention
    If there is any urgent business arising since the formal was published, the Chair will announce this and give reasons why he / she has agreed to consider it at this meeting.
     
    3(b) Items to be taken under urgency procedures
    Items that require a decision but cannot wait until the next meeting of the relevant committee.
  4. Minutes and actions of the last meeting
    To confirm the minutes of the last meetings on 11 March 2011 and 25 March 2011.
  5. Devon and Cornwall Police Authority Transition Governance
    This report expands on the discussions at the Police Authority Seminar on 25 March, and sets out the governance arrangements for the Transition Project.  This plan is being established to prepare for the move to the new police accountability and governance arrangements proposed for May 2012.

  6. Update on Voluntary Redundancy
    This report provides Members with an update on the progress made establishing arrangements in the event of redundancy of police staff.
    The meeting will consider a proposal to consider this item in closed session due to a late amendment to the report.
     
  7. Consideration to exclude the press and public
    Recommendation that the agenda items detailed in the table below be considered as the closed items.
  8. Update on Formal Consultation
    The purpose of this report is to update the Authority in respect of active consultation by the Force in respect of workforce reviews.
    Part of this item will now be discussed in open session.
